Individual music therapy in Katowice for children and adults
For people of all ages facing a range of developmental, emotional and physical challenges
Music has remarkable social and emotional potential. As Norwegian music therapist Even Ruud explains, engaging with music can strengthen a person's sense of identity and support a gradual improvement in quality of life. We draw on this potential in individual music therapy sessions at our centre in Katowice.
Individual music therapy is a personalised process in which the relationship between therapist, participant and family is central. It creates a safe one-to-one space where the pace and form of the work are tailored to one person's needs, regardless of age or developmental, emotional or physical challenges.
We work within a humanistic framework, combining Person-Centered Music Therapy, Family-Centered Music Therapy and Resource-Oriented Music Therapy. The starting point is not a person's deficits, but their strengths and potential, which we discover and develop together.
Sessions may include instrumental and vocal improvisation, listening to music, rhythm and sound work, and movement. No musical ability is required.
